Jail Diversion

Exploring collaborative solutions for alternatives to incarceration.

One of the primary focuses of the TBHLT is the diversion of certain offenders with mental illness from incarceration. To address the many issues of jail diversion, the TBHLT created the Jail Diversion Committee

Committee
Composition

This group is comprised of members from the Judicial Branch, the Grayson County District Attorney's Office, the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, Community Supervision (Probation), and the Texoma Community Center.

Unprecedented Cooperative Effort

The TBHLT is emboldened in our core value of community collaboration in regard to jail diversion. One of the components of the Jail Diversion Committee is the Criminal Justice Sub-Committee. This group is exploring collaborative solutions and alternatives to incarceration for certain offenders with mental illness.

No single entity can tackle the
issue of mental health in Texoma alone.
