Growing Collaboration and Resources

Access to care is one of the most important challenges facing our region. The Texoma Behavioral Health Leadership Team works to strengthen collaboration, align resources, and support solutions that make mental health services easier to find, access, and navigate across North Texas.

No single organization can address these challenges alone. Through regional partnerships and shared strategy, we help create awareness of systems, providers, and communities to improve outcomes for the people we serve.

Our Approach

  • Align Partners

We bring together providers, organizations, and community leaders across Texoma to strengthen collaboration and improve coordination across systems.

  • Identify Gaps

Through shared data, conversations, and regional insight, we work with partners to better understand needs and address barriers to care.

  • Coordination

We support clearer referral pathways, stronger communication, and more connected systems across mental health services.

  • Expand Access

By aligning resources and supporting solutions, we help make mental health care easier to find, navigate, and access across Texoma.

“The Texoma Health Behavioral Health Leadership Team is truly a global model of what it means to work collectively and collaboratively across sectors and disciplines to create a mentally healthy region. Building prevention, a safety net, and a better system of support and care cannot be done by one individual or one organization; it takes a community willing to trust, support, take risks, and create action for a better tomorrow.”

-Tom Watt former Grayson County Sheriff

Due to the TBHLT's advocacy and efforts, several action committees were formed, including Access to Care, where local mental health providers could benefit from meeting regularly to network, learn about each other's specialties, and receive CEUs.

TBHLT offers an annual Community Behavioral Health Conference to help inform about mental health and resources, empower practitioners and clients, and uplift through networking.

In 2025, TBHLT supported its Mental Health Workgroup Initiative. This work group looked into many issues, but was most successful advocating for Senate Bill 469/House Bill 1716, which were designed to address the mental health workforce shortages by allowing provisionally licensed associates, under the direction of a licensed clinical supervisor, to be paid for their counseling services at a reduced rate, partially relieving the demand for licensed clinicians. This remains a strong topic for the next legislative session.
